DIY Magic Monster Spray https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/diy-magic-monster-spray/ https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/diy-magic-monster-spray/#respond Tue, 19 Sep 2023 16:54:08 +0000 https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/?p=6607 This time of year can be scary for little ones so we want to take this opportunity to share a helpful hack — Magic Monster Spray! If your little one is afraid of monsters at bedtime, this magic monster spray might just help. It’s very easy to make and helps children conquer their fear of monsters, and other nighttime insecurities they may have. Not sure what to do when your child is afraid of the dark or becomes afraid of monsters following Halloween? DIY Magic Monster Spray could be the answer. This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. We can tell you first hand that this monster spray has worked. How do we know? One of Christine’s Sugarplums became afraid of monsters.  Her other two never had a problem sleeping in their own room, never had nightmares, and didn’t need a nightlight. But her middle daughter let those monsters in. So, in a struggle to help her sleep better we created some very special, very powerful DIY Magic Monster Spray with essential oils.  Thank goodness it worked! A good night’s sleep. We recommend making the Magic Monster Spray together with your children. That way you can talk about their fears while they are having fun making a craft. When adding the essential oil, you can simply say that monsters hate the smell of essential oils. How do you use Monster Spray? After your normal bedtime routine, bring out the magic monster spray.  You can explain again that the magic spray will not let any monsters into the room, then ask where the monsters are getting in. Spray those areas first. Let your child spray and have siblings and family help as well. Spray other areas too, like windows or closet doors. Keep the bottle within reach and hopefully, with Magic Monster spray nearby, bedtime monsters will soon be history! Here’s the recipe we used: DIY Magic Monster Spray Plastic spray bottle Distilled water Sequins or gemstones Lavender essential oil Stickers Here’s how to make Monster Spray Place stickers onto the spray bottle. Fill the bottle with water. Add the sequins or gemstones. Add a few drops of essential oil. DIY Magic Monster Spray Tutorial This Monster Spray is so easy to make.  First, stick your stickers onto the bottle.  Then all you have to do is put the ingredients into the bottle.  Start with the water, then add some gemstones, and finally a couple drops of essential oil.  Give the bottle a swirl before each use. The essential oils give a fragrance to fend off the monsters. After all, if we can smell it…the monsters can too, right? The gems are for added fun. And the label makes it legit. They will check it out, even if they can’t read! We hope you liked this DIY Monster Spray with essential oils, and hope that it has helped your little one have a restful night! Kids Rock Painting Fall Frame https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/kids-rock-painting-fall-frame/ Fri, 15 Sep 2023 14:50:00 +0000 http://192.168.0.28:8010/?p=3393 We saw a lot of painted rocks around our town in the thick of Covid19. They were a beautiful way to show community spirit. Since our communities have opened to a new normal, the painting of rocks around town has settled. But, the littles have continued to enjoy painting rocks which led us to come up with a nice way to display their beautiful creations. This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What you’ll need: Small smooth rocks Child friendly paint in fall colours Paint brushes 8×10 picture frame (glass removed) White card stock (cut into an 8×10 piece) Scissors Hot glue gun with glue Burlap ribbon Kids Rock Painting Fall Frame Firstly, paint the rocks! Grab some paint and brushes and have the kids paint the rocks with Thanksgiving or fall in mind. It’s fun to see what they will come up with. Once the rocks are finished, set them aside to dry completely. While the littles are painting their rocks, prepare the frame by removing the glass (if not already done) and adding the cut 8×10 piece of card stock. Once the rocks have dried use the hot glue gun to glue the rocks into the centre of the frame. Then measure and cut a length of burlap ribbon to make a circle around the the rocks. Twist the burlap to create some loops. Finish the circle by twisting the two ends together, be sure to tuck in any loose fibres. Finally, glue the burlap circle around the rocks to finish. We saw a lot of painted rocks around our town in the thick of Covid19. They were a beautiful way to show community spirit. Since our communities have opened to a new normal, the painting of rocks around town has settled. But, the littles have continued to enjoy painting rocks which led us to come up with a nice way to display their beautiful creations.

Books – You can never have enough stories to share. Gift your little one a new edition of their favourite novel or a fun Easter bunny story to read together. Bathtime books are a great gift for younger children.

Figurines – Schleich, Playmobil and Lego have lots of small options for your little one’s Easter basket. Don’t forget to check your local dollar store for their favourites first, sometimes you’ll find these brands in the toy isle.

Glow sticks – Light up the room with some glow sticks and laser rings. These fun toys can be found at the dollar store and are a great non-candy Easter basket idea.

Hair accessories –  Scrunchies, clips and headbands can fill your little one’s Easter basket. Make-up and make-up bags are a good idea for older children. Purses, hats and sandals are also great options for Easter baskets.

Bath toys – Make bath time more fun! A new rubber ducky, small watering can or floating book is always a fun non-candy gift idea for kids.

Games – A board game for the whole family or a new card game to learn. Or consider a fun game for spring and summer like a bean bag toss or frisbee.

Jewelry – A necklace with a favourite character, Easter earrings or a headband. There are endless options when it comes to jewelry, from inexpensive to more precious.

Bubbles. Bubbles, bubble blowers or bubble wands. There are so many fun and inexpensive bubble ideas that kid love. Fill a bubble themed bucket for them

Pool and beach supplies. Summer will soon be here. Pool and beach toys and gear are great Easter gift ideas. Think goggles, floaties, towels, a new suit or some fun sunglasses!

Bubbles, Chalk, Glow Sticks – So many options to choose from!

Sports gear. Do you have a little one that loves sports or is part of a team? New sports gear can be a fun non-candy surprise on Easter morning.

Cooking supplies. Cooking supplies, an apron or a cookbook for those little ones that love to be in the kitchen.

Water bottle – A new water bottle for the summer holidays is a great and practical option for a non-candy option.

Experiences. A fun family day out or a trip to the aquarium, or museum can be a fun gift, instead of something that goes into a basket.

Craft or new art supplies. Being bloggers who love kids’ crafts, we love this idea. Gift your little one a new craft or supplies for their favourite crafting activity. Paint brushes, paints, crayons, paper, scissors or a colouring book. You can’t go wrong with a basket full of creative fun!
