A great classroom art project for teachers, this Reindeer Fun Kid’s Craft can make a great parent gift! So grab your paints — or your fingers! — and get painting.

This craft is simple and oh-so cute! Watch your little ones light up when they see their artwork on the wall or mantel this Christmas. Use one colour or many, you could even add glitter! Adult supervision and help are needed for this craft as we recommend using a crafter knife to trim the painter’s tape (see below for details!)

What do you need to make a Reindeer Fun! Kids Craft

Canvas
Painters tape
Paint
FREE template
Crafting knife
Pencil
Black paint pen or permanent marker
Sequins and/or glitter (optional)

How to make Reindeer Fun! Kids Craft!

Print and cut out our FREE template
Trace the reindeer head onto the canvas
Cover the traced outline with painter’s tape
Using a crafter’s knife, carefully cut away the excess tape
Paint! Use a brush or finger paint!
Set the painting aside to dry completely. Then peel the tape away
outline and colour the eyes using a black paint pen or thick permanent marker
Add sequins or glitter using all-purpose glue.

Easy to follow photo tutorial!

Print and cut out our free reindeer template. Be sure to cut the nose and the eyes out as well. Then center the reindeer in the middle of the canvas —Trace around the head, eyes and nose with a pencil. Don’t press too hard!

Cover the traced drawing with painter’s tape.

Using a crafter’s knife, carefully cut away the excess tape so you’re left with a painter’s tape reindeer face.

To make the nose the same colour as the background, cut the nose out as well. Leave the eyes.

Then paint! Have your little one use a paintbrush — or finger paint! — around the canvas. Use different colours or the same. Glitter paint of confetti paint is a great addition to this project!

Set the painting aside to dry completely.

Once dry, carefully peel the painter’s tape away from the canvas.

Next, outline and colour the eyes using a black paint pen or thick permanent marker.

Optional: Add sequins or glitter using all-purpose glue.

World’s Greatest Dad Handprint Craft

What do need to make a Father’s Day Handprint Craft?

Canvas
Free printable
Cardstock
Water based paint
Brushes – sponge and paint
Mod Podge
Scissors

How to make a Father’s Day Handprint Craft:

Paint the canvas in Dad’s favourite colours.
Print the free printable World’s Greatest Dad record onto cardstock and cut it out.
Use a thin coat of Mod Podge to glue the record onto the cardstock. Then, add another thin layer of Mod Podge over the top of the record to seal the cardstock in place.
Add a bright coloured handprint to the record for an extra touch of love!

Easy World’s Greatest Dad Handprint Craft Tutorial:

Paint the canvas in Dad’s favourite colours. Use a paintbrush, sponge or even finger paint! Set the canvas side to dry completely.

Print the free printable record onto card stock and cut it out.

Using a sponge brush, place a thin (too much on the back will create wrinkles) layer of Mod Podge onto the back of the record and press it onto the canvas.

Spread another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the record to seal the cardstock to the canvas. Set it aside to dry completely.

Once dry, add a handprint to the record to create a fun and meaningful memory.

Toddler Bunny Garland Craft

Cardboard

How do you make a Toddler Bunny Garland Craft?

Cut bunny shapes out of cardboard using the free template and paint them white
Paint the bunnies pink, yellow and blue
Glue a pom-pom tail onto each bunny
Glue each bunny onto the twine

Easy-to-follow tutorial!

First, cut bunny shapes out of cardboard using the free template. Then paint them white.

Paint the bunnies pink, yellow and blue. Or colours of your choice. If your little ones love to finger-paint, this is a great craft for it!

Next, glue a pom-pom tail onto each bunny. You can use child-safe glue or have an adult use a glue gun.

Finally, glue each bunny onto the twine. Space the bunnies out evenly and don’t forget to rotate the colours!

Valentine’s Kids Craft with Free Template

With Valentine’s Day on the way, we wanted to share this fun Valentine’s kid’s craft! This Valentine’s Kids Craft with Free Template is great for all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. The littles will love to paint freely on the canvas using paintbrushes…or their fingers. Older ages can choose to paint solid backgrounds or add some creative flair of their own by painting shapes!

What do you need to make a fun Valentine’s craft?

Canvas board
Free template
Painters tape
Craft knife (for adult use only)
Paint in pinks, reds, and purples
Paint brushes
Red sequins
Glue
Red paint pen
A little helper

How to make Valentine’s Kids Craft:

Print and cut out the FREE Love Template
Place the pieces on a blank canvas (we used an 8×10 canvas)
Trace around the template using a pencil
Place painter’s tape over the canvas, covering the traced template
Using a craft knife (with the help of an adult), cut out the shape of the letters and heart, peeling away the excess tape
Paint!!
Allow the paint to dry completely
Peel the painter’s tape off carefully
Where the tape was, use a paint pen to fill in the letters
For the heart, add some glue and top with sequins!
Allow the paint and glue to dry completely

Print and cut out the FREE Love Template. Place the pieces on a blank canvas (we used an 8×10 canvas). Trace around the template using a pencil.

Place painter’s tape over the canvas, covering the traced template.

Using a craft knife (with the help of an adult), cut out the shape of the letters and heart, peeling away the excess tape.

Paint!!

Allow the paint to dry completely. Once the paint has dried completely, peel the painter’s tape off carefully.

Where the tape was, use a paint pen to fill in the letters and the heart shape.

For the heart, add some glue and top with sequins! Set aside and allow the paint and glue to dry completely.

Handprint Christmas Art for Kids

We decorated our house for Christmas this weekend and we thought some Handprint Christmas Art for Kids would be a great way to get our smallest sugarplums involved! So we spent one morning making some beautiful parent and child shared art – using brushes, hands, and toes. Keep reading for a full tutorial for how you and your littles can make your own Christmas canvas.

What you’ll need to make Handprint Christmas Art for Kids:

Canvas
Paint – gray, white, yellow, black, green, red
Paint brushes
Wood circle
Glue

Start by painting the canvas in light gray. Bigger kids can do this step themselves, but smaller hands may need your help. We painted Baby M’s canvas for him.

Set the canvas aside to dry,

and then paint the wooden or paper circle red.

Now let your little ones get creative! Let them paint with their fingers in white and yellow paint – creating random dots all over the canvas.

You may end up with more splotches than dots – but that’s perfectly ok!

Add your little ones handprint to the red circle, and then let it dry.

Paint a tree branch onto the canvas,

and then paint many small green needles along the branch.

Add black lowlights to some – but not all – of the needles,

and then add some highlights.

Glue the wooden circle to the canvas, underneath your branch.

Paint on an ornament top,

and then a string,

and you’re done! A beautiful holiday keepsake you and your child created together.

Toddler Turkey Art – Fun and Learning

It’s turkey time! This super easy Toddler Turkey Art is a project that your little will love. Once you prepare the canvas for them, they can paint and create all by themselves. And you will have a beautiful keepsake to hang every Thanksgiving. Baby M, who helped us out, is 16M – and he loved it so much! He loved getting his hands messy and really loved using the small sponge brush. He is SO proud of the final result – it’s hanging in Victoria’s home and Baby M points at it everyday – he is so proud of himself and his art!

What you’ll need to make our Toddler Turkey Art:

A canvas – we used an 8 x 10
Painter’s tape
Water based acrylic paints – we used red, yellow, orange, gold and brown
Paper in white and yellow
Sharpie
Sealer
Sponge brush or paint brush
Paper plate or reusable paint palette
Ruler
Pencil
Craft knife

Begin by lightly drawing out a semi-circle in the center of the canvas – this will be the turkey’s head. Next, use a ruler to mark radiating lines out from the center of the canvas to the outer edge.

Cover the turkey’s head with painters tape, trimming the curved edge with a sharp craft knife.

Cut the painters tape into thin stripes and then add the stripes to the canvas where the pencil lines were drawn.

Add more thin stripes of painters tape opposite to the pencil lines – creating a grid like pattern. Uneven lines are perfectly okay!

Create and paint! Lay out paint on a plate and then let your little go wild.

Baby M even got his feet involved!

Let the paint fully dry and then pull the tape off of the canvas.

Use some brown paint to colour in the turkey’s head.

Once this is dry, glue some eyes and a beak cut out from paper (add pupils with a sharpie) onto the turkey’s head.

Cover the canvas with a sealer (like Mod Podge) and then your little masterpiece is done!
