This Thanksgiving make a delicious and easy dinner party appetizer! This Spiced Hummus Dip Recipe is incredibly easy to throw together, and the presentation is outstanding.

Spiced Hummus Dip

Sharing recipes around this time of year is one of our favourite things to do and we’re excited to share this modified Hummus Dip charcuterie board recipe because it’s easy to make and perfect for sharing with family and friends!

Charcuterie boards have become a popular addition to holiday entertaining recently, and for a good reason, they look amazing on the table and are generally very easy to throw together. They also work well for both large and small gatherings.

We call this a modified charcuterie board because it does not follow the 3-3-3-3 rule. Every charcuterie board should technically have three types of meat, three cheeses, three starches and three “extras” such as fruits, veggies or nuts. This quick dinner party dip is quicker and requires fewer ingredients, making it cost-effective — and just as perfect!

What do you need to make an Easy Spiced Hummus Dip?

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potato
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 cups hummus
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Combine all ingredients in a food processor except sweet potato. Blend.
  • Add sweet potato and blend.
  • Tortilla chips
  • Sweet red peppers
  • Salsa of your choice
  • Blender
  • A serving platter

How to make an Easy Charcuterie Board Spiced Hummus Dip Recipe:

  • Combine 3 cloves garlic, 1 1/2 cups of hummus, 4 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp cumin, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp chili powder, and 1/2 tsp salt in a food processor. Blend until well mixed.
  • Cook and mash sweet potatoes. Once cooled, add in 2 cups of and blend again.
  • Place in a serving dish.
  • On a serving platter arrange the Hummus Dip, salsa, tortilla chips and red peppers.
  • Enjoy!

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a food processor, except sweet potato. Blend well. Add sweet potato and blend again.

This recipe is fairly simple, great for picky eaters. But there’s lots of room for kicking up the flavour – try adding shredded rotisserie chicken, avocado, refried beans, green onions and any other toppings you love.

What You’ll Need:

  • Tortillas
  • Red pepper
  • Onion
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil
  • Cheddar and Mozzarella shredded cheese
  • Salsa
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Large pan

Firstly, thinly slice the onion and red pepper.

  • 1 Red pepper
  • 1/2 Onion
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese Shredded

  • 6 Small tortillas
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Thinly slice the red pepper and onion.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add peppers and onion and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cook until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. 
  • While the pepper and onion are cooking, use a sharp knife to cut creepy faces into three tortillas.
  • Top three un-creepy tortillas with the cooked veggies, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses and salsa.
  • Top the filled tortilla with the creepy face we cut out earlier.
  • Heat a pan on medium heat and spray with cooking spray or oil. Add the creepy quesadilla and toast for 7-10 mins until the cheese has melted.

How do you make a Boozy Rainbow Slush?

  • Grind Nerds candy into tiny pieces using a blender or food processor.
  • Rim a cocktail glass generously with the candy pieces.
  • Blend the Blue Curacao with ice until it is the consistency of crushed ice.
  • Repeat with the Pink Whitney. Add two parts simple syrup for a sweeter cocktail.
  • Repeat one more time with vodka and ice, adding lemon and lime juices. Add another two parts of simple syrup here if desired.
  • Freeze each slush mixture for 3-4 hours.
  • When ready, use a spoon to layer the slush into the prepared cocktail glass.
  • Begin with the vodka slush, then the Blue Curacao, followed by the Pink Whitney

Ingredients

Jelly layer

  • 1 pkg Hartley’s Strawberry Jelly
  • 250 mls boiling water
  • 250 mls cold water

Pudding layer

  • 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups whipped topping

Fruit layer

  • fresh strawberries sliced
  • fresh blueberries

Instructions

Jelly layer

  • In a bowl, add boiling water to the jelly, stir until dissolved, add the cool water, stirring until well mixed.
  • Place in the fridge for 45min or until set.

Pudding layer

  • With the electric mixer, prepare the instant pudding by adding 2 cups of water to the powder and mix until small peaks develop (about 5min).
  • Add in 2 cups of whipped topping, mix with the electric mixer until well blended, set aside.

Layering

  • Begin to layer the ingredients, two-three spoonfuls at a time into a tall clear glass.
  • Start with some of the firm jelly, then add the pudding layer, finally add the sliced strawberries. Continue to alternate until the glass is full.
  • Top with blueberries!

Crust 1 cup butter melted 1/2 cup sugar and some to sprinkle 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour Cheesecake Filling 225 g cream cheese softened to room temperature 2 eggs 150 g Greek blueberry yogurt 1 cup sugar 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Topping 1 cup lemon pie filling or make your own! 3/4 cup fresh blueberries How to make lemon blueberry bars: Crust Line an 8×8″ pan with foil. In a medium bowl stir the melted butter, vanilla, sugar and salt. Add the flour and stir until well combined. Reserve about 3/4 cup of the crust. Place in the refrigerator until needed. Press the remaining mixture evenly into the prepared pan Bake the crust for about 15 min or until golden brown. Cheesecake Filling In a medium bowl beat cream cheese on high until smooth. Beat in eggs. Add sugar, yogurt, salt and beat until well blended. Add flour and beat again. Pour the filling onto the prepared crust. Bake for 40 min. Topping Prepare lemon pie filling. Our Blueberry Lemon Bars have the perfect crust that can actually be used to make some yummy shortbread cookies! This crust makes these bars easy to handle while complementing the lemon and blueberry flavours.

The centre of these bars is a delicious, blueberry flavoured cheesecake. Made with creamy blueberry flavoured greek yogurt, this cheesecake is delightfully fresh and light!

The topping is made with lemon pie filling and fresh blueberries. You can make your own lemon filling if you’d like, we took the easy way this time and bought pre-made canned lemon pie filling.

Easy Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake Bars

What ingredients do you need to make Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake Bars?

Crust

  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar and some to sprinkle
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Cheesecake Filling

  • 225 g cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g Greek blueberry yogurt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Topping

  • 1 cup lemon pie filling or make your own!
  • 3/4 cup fresh blueberries

Easy Lemon Blueberry Bars by Champagne and Sugarplums

How to make lemon blueberry bars:

Crust

  • Line an 8×8″ pan with foil.
  • In a medium bowl stir the melted butter, vanilla, sugar and salt. Add the flour and stir until well combined.
  • Reserve about 3/4 cup of the crust. Place in the refrigerator until needed.
  • Press the remaining mixture evenly into the prepared pan
  • Bake the crust for about 15 min or until golden brown.

Cheesecake Filling

  • In a medium bowl beat cream cheese on high until smooth. Beat in eggs. Add sugar, yogurt, salt and beat until well blended. Add flour and beat again.
  • Pour the filling onto the prepared crust.
  • Bake for 40 min.

Topping

  • Prepare lemon pie filling.
  • Add blueberries and gently fold in.
  • Pour lemon-blueberry filling over cheesecake layer.
  • Crumble reserved crust over the top layer. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
  • Bake for an additional 15 min or until the crumble is golden.
  • Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature on a wire rack.
  • When cooled, move the bars to the refrigerator for about 1 hour
