Ice Cream Cone DIY Apron with Free Template https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/ice-cream-cone-diy-apron-with-free-template/ Fri, 09 Jul 2021 13:50:00 +0000 http://192.168.0.28:8010/?p=2925 We’re definitely well into summer, and we have the perfect DIY that will fit right in with your summer long weekend patio or poolside shenanigans! Our easy DIY Ice Cream Cone Apron is fun and cute for all summer entertaining. Pop it on while tending the BBQ or when prepping a delicious dessert. Either way, we think this ice cream apron is the perfect weekend cooking and baking attire! This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What You’ll Need: Ice Cream Cone Template Plain apron Felt in Tan, Blue and White Iron on adhesive Embroidery thread in Brown and five other bright colours Iron Scissors Needle One pink pom pom Glue Pencil and/or marker How to Make an Ice Cream Cone DIY Apron Firstly, print and cut out the ice cream cone template, separating the ice cream from the cone. Secondly, trace the cone template onto the tan felt… And the ice cream templates onto the blue and white felt and then cut out the traced shapes. Use the brown thread to make waffle cone lines on the tan felt. Start by marking the lines on the wrong side of the cone with a marker and then sewing lines, following the dotted pattern. Make coloured sprinkles in the white felt by sewing small double lines in random places all over the ice cream dome. We made 3-5 sprinkles per colour. Trace and cut out each piece of felt from the iron-on bonding paper. Follow the directions of the bonding paper. Usually, the first step is to iron the clear, ‘bumpy’ side of the bonding to the wrong side (the side without the embroidery) of the felt. Hold an iron (do not use steam) over the felt and press and hold until the bond has taken. Then peel the paper backing off and lay it onto the apron. Press with the iron until bonded. Try not to rub the iron back forth too much. Finally, glue the pom pom in place on the top of the ice cream cone. And it’s done – ready to wear for some BBQ fun! What do you need to create these Handprint Christmas Kids Craft Ideas? Construction paper in red, white, blue, green and yellow Glue Stick Stick on gems, stickers and small decorations Markers Scissors Pencil Ribbon for creating a garland Popsicle sticks for creating puppets Card stock for creating Christmas cards It’s easy to put these Christmas kids’ crafts together. Firstly, the Christmas Tree needs decorations and a star made out of yellow construction paper. A brown stump can be glued to the back of the handprint, also made from construction paper. Secondly, the Santa is made by tracing your child’s hand on some white construction paper. Glue a red Santa hat with a white pom-pom and trim to the top of the Santa’s head. What You’ll Need: Four bowls Paint pens in white and gold Graphite paper Template – get it here Scissors Masking tape Ballpoint pen How to make DIY Ice Cream Bowls: Print out the template, you may have to resize depending on bowl size. Cut out each of the labels, cutting close to the words on the top and bottom. Cut out a piece of graphite paper about the same size as the labels. Lay the first label on top of the graphite paper and then use some tape to secure it in place on the front of one bowl. Take a ballpoint pen and then draw on top of each of the letters which will leave a pattern behind. Remove the label and then the graphite paper. Cover each of the graphite lines with the white paint pen. Don’t worry if you don’t cover all of graphite lines, they easily will rub off after the paint is dry. Draw small dashes all over the bowl with white and gold paint pens to make sprinkles and then repeat the same steps on the rest of the bowls. We hope you enjoy these easy, adorable ice cream bowls, happy crafting!

Lazy Susan’s make a fabulous addition to any BBQ, they’re great for displaying condiments or utensils. We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What You’ll Need: A plain lazy Susan. If you can’t find one, you can make your own with instructions from The Shabby Creek Cottage Sandpaper White paint Green paint (or orange or yellow) Tissue paper Mod Podge and a foam brush Sealer How to make your own Citrus Lazy Susan: Sand the finish off of the old lazy Susan (skip this step of you have made your own). Paint the entire surface white and then let dry. This may take a few coats so be sure to let the paint dry in between. Paint the edge of the lazy Susan green (orange or yellow), coming up onto the top about 1/2”. Cut out eight triangles, about an 1” smaller than the radius of the lazy Susan. Mod Podge the triangles into the centre of the green circle and then let dry. Don’t worry about wrinkles forming, they give the paper a citrusy texture which looks great!
