But remember, when creating the volcano at home, be sure to have adult supervision as well as a plate or plastic mat to catch the “lava.” Like with most crafts or science experiments, things can get messy!

What do you need to make a Volcano Valentine?

• White vinegar
• Red food colouring
• Baking soda
• Glitter in pink, red or purple
• Small, sealable, snack bags
• Small liquid containers
• Free printable
• Stapler

Watch as the STEM volcano erupts!

How to make an easy valentine:

• Add vinegar to a small liquid container. Then add a few drops of red food colouring to the vinegar.
• In a small dish, add baking soda and a variety of glitter colours. Mix to combine.
• Put the baking soda mixture into a clear, sealable bag. Add the bottle of coloured vinegar.
• Print out and staple the free printable label to the top of the bag.
• Give to your valentines! Enjoy!

Tutorial: How to make a Volcano Valentine with FREE Printable

Add vinegar to a small liquid container. Then add a few drops of red food colouring to the vinegar. Place the cap back on and shake the mixture to combine the colour.

In a small dish, add baking soda and a variety of glitter colours. Mix to combine.

Put the baking soda mixture into a clear, sealable bag. Add the bottle of coloured vinegar (be sure the bottle is dry and clean of any spills!) Print our and staple the free printable label to the top of the bag.
