This stunning tropical party decor works for many occasions, including baby showers, first birthday, bridal showers and much more. We love it for summer weekends, perfect for any beach, pool or tropical themed party! Hang it on any patio for a pop of colour, this bright party decor will certainly make your party fabulous! This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What You’ll Need: Green paper in light and dark colours Yellow paper Pink paper Scissors Yarn Glue Hole punch Flower punch Begin by cutting an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of green paper in half and then folding those pieces in half again. Cut a heart shape out of the folded paper, cutting it out from the creased side. On the curved edge of the folded heart, cut out four teardrop shapes. These should get gradually smaller the closer to the pointed tip. Keep cutting out leaves until you have about two dozen and then make holes on the wide end of the leaves with a hole punch. Repeat the first step with light green paper. This time cut a half football shape from the folded edge of the paper. Almost finished this beautiful Tropical Party Decor! This time, cut out five thin, sharp curves from the unfolded edge of the half football. When all your leaves are ready, use the hole punch to make small circles in the bottom of the leaves. Once more, follow the first step with yellow paper this time. Cut a half oval from the folded edge of the creased paper. Using the scrapes left over from cutting out the leaves, make pineapple fronds by cutting out curved leaves. To assemble the pineapples, attach two of the yellow ovals together. Add two more (four ovals per pineapple in total) and then glue the fronds onto the flat back of the pineapple. Punch flowers from pink paper and either use a punch or scissors to make small yellow stems. Glue the stems in the centre of the flowers. String the leaves, alternating light and dark, onto a piece of yarn. Add a pineapple on every four or five leaves. We made two dozen of each colour of the leaves and ten pineapples which gave us two 4′ garlands. Lastly, glue the little pink flowers onto the leaves. Sprinkle them out at random in between the pineapples and then the garlands are complete! Love our Tropical party decor, but not quite ready for your long weekend luau? Try adding our Colour Pop Coasters for extra decor and serve our Peach Moscato Cocktails.

Rustic Rainbow St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Signboard https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/rustic-rainbow-st-patricks-day-lucky-signboard/ Mon, 18 Jan 2021 13:42:00 +0000 http://192.168.0.28:8010/?p=1137 It’s time to get your green on! Introduce some Irish cheer into your home during this winter. We don’t know how much winter we can take, so it’s time to bring in some colour and cheer.  Luckily, this lucky signboard might just be enough to ward off those winter blues with traditional St. Patty’s green and a subtle rainbow touch. This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. We painted our plank white, so the green would stand out better than would would against the natural wood. To give depth, we painted the plank green first and then a layer of white over-top. This way, we could sand away some of the white paint to give the sign a rustic, weathered look. There are a few ways to make the letters, free-hand like we did, stencils, or a Cricut machine. Let’s get sham-rockin and let greens, golds and rainbows dominate your decorations this March. What you’ll need: Wood plaque Scrapbook paper in green patterns Mod Podge and foam brush Scissors Ruler, stencil or Cricut machine Embroidery thread in a rainbow of colours Green and white acrylic paint Sandpaper Paint your plaque green. When this has completely dried, paint over the green with white paint. Be sure to let all of the paint layers dry completely before moving onto the next steps. If you don’t, the colours will smear together. After the white paint is dry, use the sandpaper to distress the plaque by rubbing away the white paint around the edges of the plaque. Cut out your letters while the paint layers dry. Use a stencil, Cricut machine or a ruler. Maybe try adding a second layer to add depth and flare. Use Mod Podge to attach the letters to the plaque. Seal them by applying a layer of the glue over the top of the letters as well. Cut lengths of various coloured embroidery thread or twine. Tie a knot in the middle and wrap them around one edge of the plaque, securing the threads at the back. What do you think of your lucky signboard? We would love to see your take on it, please share with us in the comments. Happy crafting! For another awesome St. Patrick’s Day decoration certainly check out our Clover Chair Sashes.

Paper Poppy Wall Decor with Free Template https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/paper-poppy-wall-decor/ Thu, 29 Oct 2020 02:17:48 +0000 http://192.168.0.28:8010/?p=3938 There is nothing that symbolizes November 11th all over the world like the poppy. A field of poppies is an inspiring sight to see and is the inspiration behind our Paper Poppy Wall Decor. The combination of the red and orange petals popping on a wall, with textured black and yellow centres, makes these pretty paper poppies a beautiful 3D piece of art.  This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. A huge bonus for this craft is that it only needs three materials – paper, scissors and glue. It couldn’t be easier to create a stunning November 11th decoration! What You’ll Need: Red, orange, yellow, black and green construction paper Petal Template Hot glue gun Scissors Wall tack or removable glue dots Start by cutting six large flower petals from the red paper using the free template provided. These should be about 5″ wide by 6″ long. Cut a slit into the bottom edge of each petal, about 1.5″ deep. Slightly fold one of the split edges over the other and then glue in place. This will lift the petals and give them depth. First glue three of the petals together to form a centre point and then add three more petals to make a flower. Glue in place. Use a small dish or other round object to make a circle from the black paper. Snip the edges of the circle all the way around and then use your fingers to ‘curl’ or fold the cuts to make them stand up. Paper Poppy Wall Decor Repeat the step to make a matching yellow circle. Glue first the yellow and then the black circle to the centre of the flowers. Repeat all of these steps to make some medium sized poppies. These will be about 3″ wide by 4″ long. And one more time to make the smallest poppies, this time in orange. The size of these ones are around 2″ wide by 3″ long. Make some leaves from green paper. Begin by folding the paper in half and then cutting a long, slim oval on the fold. With the paper still folded, cut small indents along the curved edge. Unfold the leaves and glue some together in small bunches to go around the flowers. We hope you loved this Paper Poppy Wall Decor craft as much as we do! First, you deserve a pat on the back for finishing so early!  You’re next task will be wrapping and because store bought paper could be a bit……boring, we have some easy DIY holiday wrapping paper ideas that will add some fun, creativity and flair to all of your gifts this year. What you’ll need: Craft paper in white and/or brown Paint Sponge Washi tape Stamps Ink pad Snowflake ornament This one is the easiest on the list as a black ink pad and a stamp are all you’re going to need. No clean up needed here with strips of self-sticking washi tape, creating geometric lines is all you need to do for this paper. By faaaaaaar and away the messiest of them all, but also the most fun! Dip your kiddos hands into paint (one colour at a time, let dry between colours if you can) and let them stamp them randomly all over the paper. A super pretty design using a snowflake ornament as a stencil. Sponge paint all over and around the ornament, sponge on a highlight colour and then add hand painted accents.  Create an abstract pattern from the tissue paper and then glue into place, simple and stunning. You’ll need a very sharp retractible knife for this project…and a steady hand!   Also, a cutting board is needed under the paper.  I got one from the local dollar store, I also picked up the wooden dowels too.  You could also use BBQ skewers as well, the stick needs to be long enough to stand inside whichever cup or vase you are using.  Using bright coloured paper is a MUST for creating these Cinco de Mayo papers…because you can’t have fiesta decorations without COLOUR!! Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Papel Picado Decoration  What you’ll need Wooden dowels (small) or BBQ skewers Bright coloured card stock A sharp retractible knife Hole punch Decorative scissors Cutting board Pencil Hot glue gun Ruler First, cut your card stock into 4×4″ squares.  Then draw your design lightly in pencil. Focus on creating small shapes within the square. Cut hearts, circles, petals, flowers near each other.  Next, place the paper onto the cutting board and CAREFULLY cut out the design using the sharp retractible knife. Take your time to be sure you are getting straight, crisp cuts (and don’t throw those cut outs out).   Finally, glue the paper squares onto the wooden dowels or BBQ skewers, set aside to dry. Remember the parts of the paper we cut out? The reason for that is to use them as confetti for your table top! Spread them out where you’re serving your food and drinks. Perfect for your festive celebration these Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Papel Picado Decoration are bright, happy and colourful. Place these Mexican fiesta party decorations into cups, vases or bottles.  You could even use them as stir sticks!  So grab some tequila, your favourite mix and get ready to party!!   Need more Cinco de Mayo ideas?
