This stunning tropical party decor works for many occasions, including baby showers, first birthday, bridal showers and much more. We love it for summer weekends, perfect for any beach, pool or tropical themed party! Hang it on any patio for a pop of colour, this bright party decor will certainly make your party fabulous! This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What You’ll Need: Green paper in light and dark colours Yellow paper Pink paper Scissors Yarn Glue Hole punch Flower punch Begin by cutting an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of green paper in half and then folding those pieces in half again. Cut a heart shape out of the folded paper, cutting it out from the creased side. On the curved edge of the folded heart, cut out four teardrop shapes. These should get gradually smaller the closer to the pointed tip. Keep cutting out leaves until you have about two dozen and then make holes on the wide end of the leaves with a hole punch. Repeat the first step with light green paper. This time cut a half football shape from the folded edge of the paper. Almost finished this beautiful Tropical Party Decor! This time, cut out five thin, sharp curves from the unfolded edge of the half football. When all your leaves are ready, use the hole punch to make small circles in the bottom of the leaves. Once more, follow the first step with yellow paper this time. Cut a half oval from the folded edge of the creased paper. Using the scrapes left over from cutting out the leaves, make pineapple fronds by cutting out curved leaves. To assemble the pineapples, attach two of the yellow ovals together. Add two more (four ovals per pineapple in total) and then glue the fronds onto the flat back of the pineapple. Punch flowers from pink paper and either use a punch or scissors to make small yellow stems. Glue the stems in the centre of the flowers. String the leaves, alternating light and dark, onto a piece of yarn. Add a pineapple on every four or five leaves. We made two dozen of each colour of the leaves and ten pineapples which gave us two 4′ garlands. Lastly, glue the little pink flowers onto the leaves. Sprinkle them out at random in between the pineapples and then the garlands are complete! Love our Tropical party decor, but not quite ready for your long weekend luau? Try adding our Colour Pop Coasters for extra decor and serve our Peach Moscato Cocktails.

What You’ll Need: Wood board (at least 10” by 10”) Small nails Hammer Crochet thread Scissors Ruler Leaf template – get it here Print out the leaf template and then position it on the wood board. Start hammering the nails into the board, following the outline of the leaf. Place the nails about ½” apart. Once the entire leaf is filled outlined, lift the template away from the board, to rip the paper off. Hammer more nails around the outside of the board, about ½” apart, all the way around. Tie a thread to a nail on the outside of the board. Start winding the thread between nails, going back and forth multiple times, until it starts to look full. Remember to wrap a thread around the leaf pattern, leaving the leaf empty. Doing so will help outline and highlight the leaf shape. Change thread colours to make each corner a different colour. Finally, tie off the ends tightly on an outside nail to secure the threads. We hope you love this engaging leaf string art and hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving weekend! The Absolute Cutest Little Easter Critter Cups Ever https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/the-cutest-easter-critter-cups/ Fri, 17 Apr 2020 22:10:27 +0000 https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/?p=687 We love Easter almost as much as we love Easter decorations. Make your holiday more festive with these adorable little critter cups. A sweet way to spread Easter cheer to any room in your house, party or dinner table. These adorable chick and bunny critter cups make perfect little Easter gifts too! Better make them quick before they disappear 🙂 This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What you’ll need: Glue gun Glue sticks Two small glass jars Scissors Painters tape Small piece of orange felt Little black gems Tiny pink pom pom Fine tip paintbrush Acrylic paints in Yellow, White and Black For this design, I wanted to avoid painting the lip of the jar. To do the same, take the painter’s tape and cover the top of the jar where you don’t want any paint to be. Additionally, you may have to cut slits in the tape to get it to fold over the top and seal tightly. Pour a big dollop of the yellow paint in one jar. Turn the jar around in your hands to spread the paint around. Tapping the jar against your palm helps to get the paint to move. Be patient, it may seem like the paint isn’t moving but it will. Keep turning and tapping the jar until all of the glass is covered in paint. When you’re happy with the coverage, turn the jar over onto a piece of paper towel and leave it to dry. Drying may take some time depending on how thick the paint is. Repeat the previous step with the second jar and the white paint. The Absolute Cutest Little Easter Critter Cups Ever Cut a small triangle out of the orange felt, which will be the ducks beak. Use hot glue to attach your beak to the centre of the yellow jar and then use the black gems as eyes and attach them with the hot glue on either side of the beak to complete the ducks face. On the white jar, use the black paint to make whiskers in the centre of the jar by painting an X and then add lines out the side to make three whiskers on each side. Add a pink pom pom nose with the hot glue and black gems for the bunny’s eyes. Happy Crafting!
