And seasonal décor just isn’t complete without a great door hanger. Today, let’s make this easy (and adorable!) door decoration using felt, thread, paint and ribbon. We used a burlap ribbon and painted it for texture and depth – but a green ribbon or tulle would work equally well if you’re not in the mood to break out your paints. Use what you have on hand, put your own twist on our projects and then remember to share your creations on our Facebook page, in the comments, or on Instagram! We always love to see or friends creations. Let’s dig into this project and decorate your entryway in time for the Easter bunny to stop by. This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? What you’ll need:          Orange felt – the thicker the better Burlap ribbon Coloured thread and needle Hot glue gun and sticks Green paint and sponge Draw three carrots onto some orange felt and then cut them out. Use the embroidery thread to make lines through the carrot, add as many lines as you like. Glue the carrots together at the tops, overlapping slightly, so the carrots spread out. Add some burlap ribbon by piling it on top of itself to create volume. Add a green bow. If you like, sponge some light and dark green paint onto the burlap ribbon and let dry, in order to create some depth to the plain ribbon. Enjoy your new Easter door decoration and Happy Crafting! Glam Pastel Jeweled Skull https://www.champagneandsugarplums.com/glam-purple-pastel-jeweled-skull-for-a-stylish-halloween/ Thu, 30 Apr 2020 22:59:26 +0000 http://192.168.0.28:8010/?p=1290 It’s time to get ready for Halloween and we think there’s no rules when it comes to holiday decorations so this week we’re thinking outside the box and going for some pastels with lots of shiny gems for extra scare factor.  Skulls are an essential decoration for Halloween and our high-impact glam pastel jeweled skull is a frighteningly low budget and easy to make decoration. Glam skulls look fun and stylish, ideal for any Halloween party, including for kids. We like to display our finished glam skull with some black lace, candles and our glam pumpkins. This blog post may contain affiliate links. What does that mean? We may get a small commission if you make a purchase using our links, which helps us to keep posting new holiday content every week. What You’ll Need: Skull decoration Pastel acrylic paint Paint sealer Paint brush Pastel gems Hot glue gun or other strong glue (such as E6000) Paint the entire skull in a pastel colour. This will probably take two or three coats so make sure to let the paint dry completely between layers and then finish with a clear coat to seal the paint. Glue the gems onto the skull in an abstract pattern to stretch across the face. You can either use our skull as a guide or come up with your own design. Keep gluing on gems until you are happy with your design, remember, when it comes to jewels more is more! We hope you love your glam jeweled skull as much as we do, happy crafting! If your hosting a party and need more Halloween inspiration, check out our Halloween themed cake topper for a fabulous dessert or for more skull decor our Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls.

You’ll need a very sharp retractible knife for this project…and a steady hand!   Also, a cutting board is needed under the paper.  I got one from the local dollar store, I also picked up the wooden dowels too.  You could also use BBQ skewers as well, the stick needs to be long enough to stand inside whichever cup or vase you are using.  Using bright coloured paper is a MUST for creating these Cinco de Mayo papers…because you can’t have fiesta decorations without COLOUR!! Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Papel Picado Decoration  What you’ll need Wooden dowels (small) or BBQ skewers Bright coloured card stock A sharp retractible knife Hole punch Decorative scissors Cutting board Pencil Hot glue gun Ruler First, cut your card stock into 4×4″ squares.  Then draw your design lightly in pencil. Focus on creating small shapes within the square. Cut hearts, circles, petals, flowers near each other.  Next, place the paper onto the cutting board and CAREFULLY cut out the design using the sharp retractible knife. Take your time to be sure you are getting straight, crisp cuts (and don’t throw those cut outs out).   Finally, glue the paper squares onto the wooden dowels or BBQ skewers, set aside to dry. Remember the parts of the paper we cut out? The reason for that is to use them as confetti for your table top! Spread them out where you’re serving your food and drinks.
